Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – – Ouarzazate– Dades Valley

   In the morning we pick you up from the Riad or hotel. Departing Marrakech, we’ll drive through the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, passing traditional Berber villages along the way. Throughout the journey, we’ll stop at the most scenic viewpoints, and your friendly driver will be happy to accommodate any additional requests. After adelightful lunch in Ouarzazate, we’ll continue toward the town of Skoura, enjoying the drive along the famous Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. In Skoura’s lush oasis, you’ll have the option to visit the beautifully restored Kasbah Amridil—one of Morocco’s most impressive fortified villages. There, you can learn about traditional Saharan architecture and the ancient irrigation techniques used in the nearby oases since medieval times. From there, we’ll drive to Boumalne Dades through the Rose Valley, famous for its Damascus rose plantations and local women’s cooperatives that produce rose water and other natural cosmetic products. Upon arrival at Dades Gorge, we’ll stop to admire the unique ‘Monkey Fingers rock formations. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel or riad.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Erfoud – Merzouga

   Start the day with a delicious breakfast, then enjoy a scenic drive along the Dades and Todra Rivers, which are surrounded by palm groves and Berber villages. Your destination is the Todra Gorge in Tinghir, one of the most amazing canyons in the world. After exploring the gorge, continue your journey toward the Merzouga desert. We’ll turn off the road at Tinjdad, where we’ll stop for lunch, then continue toward the Erg Chebbi dunes. Before reaching Merzouga, if you’re interested in picking up small souvenirs like scarves perfect for the desert feel free to ask your driver to stop at a traditional Berber shop. Keep in mind, there’s no obligation to buy anything; the shop’s main purpose is to share Berber culture. If you’re not interested, you’re welcome to skip the stop. Once you arrive in Merzouga, you will experience the camel ride, try sandboarding, and watch a lovely Sunset over the highest dune of Merzouga.Then, spend the night in a luxury desert camp near the fire and Berber music and sky full of stars.

Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Daraa Valley – Ouarzazate

   Today, we recommend waking up early to enjoy the stunning desert sunrise, as the dunes come alive with beautiful colors and soft shadows. Free time for breakfast at the camp, then return to Merzouga, where the driver awaits. You have two options for the return: a camel ride or a comfortable transfer by 4×4 vehicle.Afterward, we’ll head to Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. If your visit falls on a Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday, you’ll have the chance to explore its traditional market. From Rissani, we’ll continue along a southern route, following the mountains toward the Draa Valley, passing through the Berber villages of Tazzarine and arriving in N’Kob for lunch.In the afternoon, we will arrive in Ouarzazate, where you will spend the night.  

Day 4: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Atlas Mountains –Marrakech

   After a delicious breakfast, we’ll visit Kasbah Taourirt in the city, once owned by the Glaoui family , the Pashas of Marrakech. Then we’ll drive north toward the famous Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou and one of Morocco’s nine UNESCO World Heritage Sites, which also belonged to the Lords of the Atlas, the same Glaoui family. The Kasbah is a famous example of traditional earthen architecture. It has appeared in numerous movies and TV series, including: The Mummy,Alexander, Gladiator, Game of Thrones, etc From here, our journey continues to Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Along the way, we’ll make stops to enjoy the beautiful views of the Berber villages. Upon arrival, we’ll drop you off at your accommodation in Marrakech. End of the tour.
